HOW TO BECOME A CONSIGNOR
In order to be a consignor you must consign a minimum of four items.
You price your own merchandise and receive
70% of the selling price of items. A $10.00 consignor fee will be deducted
from
your check to help cover the building rental charge. For you to plan
ahead,
we have prepared our drop-off and check-out
instructions and schedule for the Fall 2010 sale.
THE DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FALL 2010 SALE AS A CONSIGNOR IS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2010. THIS INCLUDES BOTH NEW AND PAST CONSIGNORS!! Remember...sign up early as we will have to limit the number of consignors participating and we may reach our limit before the September 12th deadline. Don't wait till the last minute to sign up!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Consignors need to contact us
to get a consignor number. If you choose to e-mail us for a consignor number, please include your address and phone number for our records. We will begin issuing numbers for new consignors on June 15, 2010.
Past Consignors need to contact
us to confirm your consignor number and your participation in the
sale. Previous consignors may start confirming their participation in the fall sale on June 1, 2010. You must confirm your participation in our sale to be eligible to consign.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Consignor Fees and Checks: We
will mail your consignor proceeds check within two weeks after the sale.
Each consignor will need to provide a legal size #10 self-addressed stamped
envelope
at check-in or else purchase one for $1 when you bring your merchandise.
Please put your consignor number in the lower left corner of the envelope.
We will deduct your $10 consignor fee from your proceeds check.
Please know that we will do everything possible to ensure accuracy for
each and every consignor.
Hangers: Due to the volume of sales and the need to
make our customer check-out process more efficient, we will not be taking
the items off hangers at check-out. We suggest that you use either plastic tubular or regular wire hangers rather than flimsy plastic hangers. Please do not use the clip hangers - items tend the come off easily. Please make sure you use the proper size hanger
so
that your garment does not fall off the hanger. Don't wait until the last
minute to purchase your hangers and safety pins. They start
to sell out in the Wichita area as the date gets closer to the sale.
SHOP AT THE PRE-SALE
This is our biggest advantage to being a consignor - you get to shop
early! All consignors may shop at the fall pre-sale
at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15th. If you volunteer or
barter your services, you get to shop before
the Consignor Pre-sale. The Pre-sale shopping schedule is as follows:
- pre-sale volunteers may enter pre-sale at 4:30 p.m.
- 12-hour shift volunteers may enter pre-sale at 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday "prime-time" volunteers may enter pre-sale at 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday sort volunteers may enter pre-sale at 5:30 p.m.
- 4-hour
shift volunteers may enter pre-sale at 6:00 p.m.
- 2-hour shift volunteers/bartering volunteers may enter pre-sale at
7:00 p.m.
- All consignors and guests (with guest passes) may enter at 8:00 p.m.
We rely on
our consignors to help us before, during, and after the sale and appreciate
everyones
willingness to do this. It is the only way to keep your sale
efficient and the best in town.
We will start taking reservations for Volunteer time slots on Tuesday, August 17th at 9:00 a.m.
Click here to view our Volunteer shift schedule.
All consignors will be given a Consignor Pre-Sale Pass at check-in,
but all consignors who are volunteering or bartering must trade in
their
Consignor Pre-Sale Pass for the appropriate Volunteer Pre-Sale Pass. This
is very important - no one without the proper pass will be let in for
the
pre-sale.
Also, please no children at the pre-sale and only one person
per pass. Children aged 12 years and older may come in as a "Guest" using a Consignor's Guest Pass at 8:00 p.m. By the way, dont forget to bring a laundry basket
to hold all your purchases while you shop.
GUEST PASS
At check-in every
consignor will receive a guest pass. This allows our consignors to invite
a guest to the pre-sale. Guests may enter the pre-sale at 8 p.m. with
their guest pass. If a consignor enters the pre-sale earlier because
they are a volunteer - the guest must wait until 8 p.m. to enter.
CONSIGNOR 1/2 PRICE SALE
We want to give our consignors all the benefits we possibly can - so we have a Consignor 1/2 Price Sale on Friday evening, September 17th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is before the public 1/2 price sale on Saturday. We hope you can take advantage of this great opportunity. Consignor 1/2 price sale is for consignors only - no guests. You must have a pass to enter.
INCENTIVES/DRAWINGS
You, our consignors, are what keeps our business growing. And
as a way of saying "thank you," we will be having FOUR different drawings! Each gift certificate will be valid for the Fall 2010 sale only.
- Referral Drawing Incentive: For each new, first-time consignor
that you refer to our fall sale, your name will go into a drawing.
The new consignor needs to mention your name when they contact us for
a consignor number. Be sure to fill out a referral card and one of you
needs to bring it to check-in. We will be giving away one $25 gift
certificate to be used at the Fall 2010 consignment sale. The more people that you refer, the better
your chance to win.
- New Consignor Drawing: We want to celebrate all of our new consignors so we will have one $25 gift certificate to be drawn from all our new consignors for the Fall 2010 sale!
- Volunteer Drawing Incentive: All our volunteers who help us during the sale are greatly appreciated. We will have a drawing for one $25 gift certificate to be drawn from all consignors who volunteer during the sale.
- All Consignor Drawing: We will have a drawing for a $25 gift certificate that all consignors will be eligible to win -
just a little
thank you for being a consignor at our Britches and Lace Sale.
We will draw and post the names on pre-sale night. You do not need
to be present to win. The gift certificates
may be used at anytime during the 2010 Fall Sale. No
cash will be given.
For your convenience, we have prepared a web page of referral
cards for you to print as many copies as you need. Just print the
linked page from your browser.
FRIEND PASSES
At drop off, each consignor will receive two "friend passes."
Write your name on the pass and give to friends to be used during the
public sale only. At the end of the sale, we will take all "friend
passes" that
have been turned in and draw one. The consignor's name on that pass
will
receive
80% on their
items sold. Remember friend passes can only be used during the public sale, not for the consignor pre-sale.
ADVERTISE THE SALE
One Page Flyer to Download: Now every consignor can have access to our one page flyer to distribute to potential consignors and shoppers. We encourage consignors to distribute flyers to spread the word about our great sale. This has always been our greatest tool for advertising the sale. Please feel free to download a flyer and make as many copies as you can to pass around to family, friends, co-workers, etc.
Click here for a black and white version of our one page flyer. You can use colored paper to copy the flyer onto to make it stand out a little more.
One Page Flyer with Tearoffs to Download: We now have a one page flyer with contact tear-offs at the bottom. This will be great for those public bulletin boards for posting the flyer and people can tear off information that will have our phone numbers and our website address. The flyer works best if prior to posting the flyer you crease the area right above the tear-offs. Remember to cut along the dotted lines of each tear-off tab. You will need to periodically check your tear-off flyers so you can replace them if the tear-offs are all gone.
