Charity Info

As a service to you, our consignors, as well as families in the community, we have teamed up with the YWCA Women's Crisis Center/Safehouse to accept any merchandise that consignors are willing to donate at the end of the sale. How this works...if you are willing to part with any or all of your unsold items at the end of the sale, you simply put a "D" on the lower center portion of your tag. At the end of the sale when we are sorting merchandise by consignor number, we will sort out any tickets with a "D" and donate them to charity. You may want to donate some or all of your unsold items or none at all - this is completely optional. We have had consignors comment in the past that they donate their unsold merchandise anyway. And this way, you will not have to worry about picking it up and delivering it - staff from YWCA will be on hand Saturday evening to pick up any donated merchandise. Any unsold merchandise not picked up by 8:00 p.m. on Saturday will be donated. We appreciate any support you may give to this well deserving charity.

The Young Women's Christian Association of Wichita (YWCA) is a membership movement sustained by the richness of many religious beliefs and values. Strengthened by diversity, the Association draws together members who strive to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership and power in order to attain a common vision: Peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.

One of the many programs funded by the YWCA is the Women's Crisis Center/Safehouse. They provide a 24-hour crisis hotline, a shelter program for women and their children, outreach programs and support groups. If you are interested in suppporting programs that assist children, their records show that half of the residents each year at the shelter are children.

When a Britches and Lace consignor chooses to donate unsold items - these items will be taken to the YWCA Treasure Chest, 1217 W. Douglas in Wichita. The women and children being housed in the safehouses will receive any needed items free of charge. The overflow is sold to the public with the funds benefiting the YWCA Women's Crisis Center/Safehouse.
